Salen Bay With An Incoming Tide
The Road Action Group Salen is a campaign group set up to protect Salen village and bay from a council proposal for a causeway and traffic-lights which would be ugly, unnecessary, inefficient and expensive. A causeway would cause an environmental catastrophe.
RAGS has well in excess of 800 members
who are all concerned about the impact of the proposal
on the village and the bay.
RAGS is in support of the upgrading of the road to Tobermory
but will not allow Salen bay and village to be severely damaged.
Our proposals would allow the upgrade of the road whilst protecting the bay and village. This approach has been supported by an independent report.
